Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung Watch 4: Pricing and release date

Samsung announced the Galaxy watch 4 on 11 Aug 2021 and released it on 27 Aug 2021. As of Sept 2021, the 44mm Bluetooth model costs 279$, while the 44mm LTE variant comes 329$. Both these Bluetooth and LTE styles also come with the option of wireless charging for 339$ and 389$ respectively for 44mm.

Samsung also released the classic variant along with it as well, which for 42mm Bluetooth style costs 349$ and 399$ for the LTE version.

On the other hand, Apple Watch 7 was set to be released in mid of Sept 2021, is now delayed due to manufacturing issues for some time, and hopefully it would be available in the last quarter of the year. Although Apple hasn’t given any official release date, the 40mm Bluetooth model might start at 399$. For details visit Apple’s official Website.

Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Design, styles, and display

As the Apple Watch 7 hasn’t been officially released yet, but there’s would be no major changes in its design and shape. It would be somewhat curvier than its predecessors which is probably the only change in its design. However, Apple has made some drastic changes in the display.

Apple Watch 7 has adapted to full-screen display like just most of the smartphones out there and went on decreasing the borders by 40%. This gives 20% extra screen than series 5, and 50% than Series 3, and that’s quite a big change considering they are going full screen in an already compact gadget.

Like the previous series, it will be available in Bluetooth and LTE styles, with aluminum, stainless steel casing for you to choose from. The aluminum model will have Ion-x strengthened glass while the stainless steel will come with a sapphire crystal display.

Samsung released the Galaxy watch 4 in two designs, simple and classic. The former has more of an active 2 watch’s simple vibes, while the latter is more of a fusion between stylish and fashion. The classic watch comes in 42mm and 46mm, with LTE and Bluetooth styles, while the simple Galaxy watch 4 comes in 40mm and 44mm, with LTE and Bluetooth styles as well.

When it comes to displaying, the 44mm Bluetooth model has a 1.4-inches super AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels, and Corning Gorilla Glass DX+.

Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung Watch 4: Operating system, software up-gradation

Apple is sticking with their watchOS and this series 7 will be equipped with the latest watchOS 8, which is coming with some new innovative features. Apple has claimed that this new watch will have more texting options, which means it would be a suitable texting smartwatch as well, since it already has a full-screen display, so it would be interesting to see how it turns out.

Samsung on the other side is changing its game here. Samsung Smartwatches use to run on its Tizen OS, which was a good operating system, to say the least, but this Galaxy watch 4 is equipped with Wear OS 3.

Samsung went on collaborating with Google in terms of their operating system, which can go in their favor, as Samsung watches will now have all the Apps, and play store of Google, which is a game-changer here.

But for now, the Samsung galaxy watch 4 is somewhat a mixture of Tizen and the new Wear OS. As some of the apps are functions are new, but mostly it’s just like the previous smartwatches.

Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung Watch 4: Features

Samsung has always made sure to provide the best health tracking features you would need in a smartwatch. Galaxy watch 4 comes with Heart rate, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, sport modes, workout tracking, ECG, and other features as well.

You will be needing a Samsung smartphone to use some features, which could have been eliminated, while the rest of them works fine with any compatible Android phone.

Apple went on changing a lot in the display of the latest watch, but we might have to wait another year or so to have some actual changes in the features. Apple Watch 7 will have sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, ECG, Blood oxygen saturation measurement, sports tracking, etc.

We are hoping to see high/low heart rate alerts, an always-on altimeter, and a built-in compass as well. However, there’s no word on glucose monitoring and body temperature measurement for now.

Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung Watch 4: Battery life

Although battery life depends on one’s usage, it must at least for 24 hours, which is safe to say in the case of the Samsung Watch 4. With the mixed usage, it might go on for a day, but if you’re going to use GPS and other features like this which drains the battery the most, then it might not last for a day.

Apple Watch 7 is rumored to have the battery life as of Watch 6, which is 18 hours, but with the latest software chipset, we are hoping that Apple has some card up their sleeve in this regard and they will be able to provide good battery life to the users, which is one of the main concerns for their users.

Who’s the Winner? Apple Watch 7 or Samsung Watch 4

Although you’d need an iPhone to pair the Apple Watch with it, which means if you have an android, you can choose it anyway. So first off, if you have an iPhone go with the Apple Watch, and if you’re an android you should choose Samsung Watch 4.

Now, as far as the whole Apple Watch 7 vs. Samsung watch 4 is concerned since the Apple Watch has not been released yet, so it would unfair to declare a winner for now. Although it’s just a matter of days, as the Apple Watch 7 is about to be released until then we can all agree that Samsung went on changing their game.

Their collaboration with google shows that this watch series is here to stay, and will Apple be able to top this? Only time will tell.
